How do I win a Video Contest?
Popular Vote - The first way to win a contest is by winning the popular vote. You can win the popular vote by getting members of HighlyHumorous to vote on your video. Each vote gives your video between one and five points in the contest. When the contest ends, the three videos with the mostaccumulated points in that contest are issued the “Popular Vote” prizes and trophies.
Brand Purchase/High Council Favorite - The second way to win the contest is by making an amazing video. At the end of every contest, judges will sit down and decide which videos they want to purchase. (HighlyHumorous guarantees at least one video purchase per contest). Sometimes the judges will be made up of the “High Council” (HighlyHumorous.com staff) and sometimes the judges will be the employees of the Brand that sponsored the contest. In order to get your video purchased, you must abide by the rules and requirements of the contest, and impress us with your creativity and HUMOR!
How do I get paid?
Once you have been notified that you are a winner. The “High Council” will send you some paperwork that you must fill out and send back to HighlyHumorous before we send you your money. This paperwork is required by tax law.
Contests
When does a contest start?
When a contest starts, teams will be able to upload their video to the contest from their computer, or by selecting a video from their team page that they uploaded ahead of time. Members can also begin voting on videos when the contest starts.
When does a contest end?
Each contest also has an end date and time. When a contest ends, the videos with the most accumulated points during the contest will be declared the “Popular Vote” winners. At this time all videos will be reviewed, and one or more videos will be selected to be purchased by the sponsoring brand.
How do I enter?
The first thing you do is find a contest that looks interesting to you. HighlyHumorous will post a contest about 3 to 4 weeks before it starts. During that time you can read about the contest, view the requirements, view the official rules and prizes for that contest and then start making your video. Once you finish your video you can either wait to upload it to the contest on the start date, or you can upload it to your team profile before the contest starts. Uploading it to your team profile first does not mean that it is entered into the contest! However, when the contest begins you will be able to easily select your video from your team page and enter it into the contest without having to re-upload it.
When do I find out if I won?
When a contest ends, the popular vote winners will be announced immediately! (HighlyHumorous will do a final review of the videos to make sure that they comply with the rules and requirements before contacting the winner officially via email). Teams with videos that are selected to be purchased by the High Council or by a sponsoring brand will be contacted within two weeks of the contest ending. The winning teams will always be contacted officially via email to the team administrator.

How does my video get points?
A video is awarded points when a registered user of HighlyHumorous.com votes for the video. Every vote is between one and five stars (points). Once you submit your video to the contest you can share it on over 330 social networks and blogging sites to try and collect more votes. HighyHumorous provides every video with an easy sharing tool next to the video player that allows you to post the video anywhere and link viewers back to vote on it.
What is the “Leaderboard”?
Every contest page shows you in real time who is leading the “Popular Vote”. the Leaderboard shows you which teams are currently in the top three spots, as well as who is right behind them! You can also sort the videos by highest ranking to see who is leading the contest.

Why create a team?
Only teams can upload videos to HighlyHumorous.com. A team can create their own video channel on their team profile page, they can embed links to their other social networks and websites, they can collect points to move up in rank, and they can also attract fans to boost their popularity. For comedy groups, the team wall this is a great place to plug your upcoming shows and events.
Do I need to create a team?
No, you do not need to create a team unless you want all the cool features and abilities that come with it. You can always stick to being a simple member and miss out on all the fun.
What are team fans?
Attracting fans is a great way to boost your team’s popularity. If a member becomes a fan of your team, they will easily be able to navigate back to your team page to check up on your updates and watch/vote on your new videos.
What is the team ranking system?
HighlyHumorous keeps track of all the points your team has received on HighlyHumorous.com. The team ranking system allows you to compare yourself to other teams on the site and fight for the spotlight. HINT: Some trophies awarded by the “High Council” have point bonuses that can boost your team’s rank.
Can I join another team?
Yes, anyone with a HH profile can request to join a team. The team administrator will either accept or deny your request.
Can I invite other people to my team?
Yes, you can invite any user to join your team by clicking on the link in their profile. Team admins can also promote them to a team administrator once they join your team.
How do I link my other networks to my team page?
You can link your team profile to your other social network accounts by clicking on (edit your team) in the upper right hand corner of your team profile.

Why create a profile?
Creating a profile on HighlyHumorous.com allows you to vote for videos in contests, comment on videos, blogs, team walls, and other profiles.
How do I start a blog?
After you create a profile, you will see a link in the upper right hand corner above the search bar that says (my blog). You can create new blog entries and utilize the provided sharing options, or views and edit your old entries.
Trophies
What are trophies?
Trophies are virtual prizes that show the accomplishments of a video or a team. Trophies that are issued to videos will appear on that video’s player, in the team’s trophy tab, and on all team members’ profile pages. Trophies that are issued for a team’s accomplishments will not appear on a specific video. Trophies do not affect your standing in a contest. They will only affect your team’s points and your ranking on the site.
How do I get them?
You can get a HighlyHumorous trophy for pretty much anything. But here are some examples of accomplishments that are worthy of a trophy:

- Most shares of a team profile
- 10 fan milestone
- 25 fan milestone
